호국 보훈의 달, 광복 70주념 기념 고양시  ‘2015 평화누리길 걷기행사’ 개최

고양시(시장 최성)는 ‘호국보훈의 달’과 ‘광복70주년’을 맞이해 다음달 13일 고양시 호수공원에서 ‘2015 평화누리길 걷기행사’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

가족 및 일반인, 동호회가 참가하는 이번 행사는 호수공원 노래하는 분수대에서 출발해 신평소초를 지나 한강변철책구간을 거쳐 행주산성에 이르는 11㎞의 편도형 코스로 걷기행사 시 민간인 통제구역을 통과해 ‘광복70주년’의 의미를 되새길 전망이다.

또한 ‘화합과 나눔의 길’이라는 부제 하에 실시되는 이번 행사는 걷기와 더불어 고양시 나눔의료단과 함께 난치병을 앓고 있는 해외아동을 초청해 무료시술을 해주는 ▲1000명의 걸음, 1명의 생명 ▲평화누리길 페이스페인팅 ▲평화누리길 사진전시회 ▲DMZ생태해설교육 ▲평화기원 리본달기 등의 부대행사를 함께 할 계획이며 이 밖에도 참가자들이 걸을 때 마다 일정금액을 적립, 비무장지대(DMZ)보전사업에 사용해 행사참여의 의의를 높일 전망이다.

최성 고양시장은 “이번 걷기 행사는 우리가 걸어서 갈 수 있는 가까운 곳에 민간인통제구역이 위치하고 있다는 안타까운 현실에 대해 깊이 실감할 수 있는 계기”라며 “세계인이 주목하고 있는 접경지역에서 한강 철책에 갇혀 있던 소외의 땅이 기회와 희망의 땅이 될 수 있는 행사가 될 것”이라며 시민들의 참여를 기대했다.

한편 이날 행사는 ‘평화누리 종주투어’의 홍보대사 영화배우 조재현이 참석해 참가자들과 동행하며 도착지 포토월에서 사진촬영이 진행될 예정이다.
